Stellar Vortex On The Beach At Piano Torre

As the waves crash against the rocks on Piano Torre beach, I chose to capture the slow movement of the sky around the North Star. The sequence consists of 649 shots, each lasting 20 seconds, for a total time of about three and a half hours, during which the stars drew their luminous trails across the night sky. Each trail retains the colour tone of the star that generated it, revealing shades ranging from white to blue to light orange. Below, the sea foam, made silky by the long exposure, envelops the rocks and gently dissolves on the smooth pebbles, with their oval shapes and ever-changing crystalline texture.
The final result is a stellar vortex unfolding above the sea. Its oval shape is not accidental: it is the result of the perspective distortion induced by the wide-angle le
