A Night Under Mount Etna

This image tells of a wonderful evening spent with friends. To the usual company of Orazio was added the company of a great astrophotographer of Iranian origins capable of enchanting himself with the wonder of the landscapes and history of that land. Here in the foreground Amirreza Kamkar is photographing the moon rising together with Venus over the top of the Etna volcano. It is a special moment close to the end of the astronomical night. The sky is slightly illuminated by the light of twilight which however does not prevent the zodiacal light from showing itself between the two celestial objects and the M44 cluster. On the right, the ash cloud moves in the direction of Catania, bending under the action of the thermal inversion.
