Marte è tornato a brillare nel cielo notturno. Sorgendo poco prima dell'alba nella costellazione del Toro, il Pianeta Rosso ci farà compagnia per tutta la stagione invernale.
In questo scatto, il suo bagliore si staglia accanto al suggestivo Castello di Giuliana, arroccato a oltre 700 metri d'altezza. Questa fortezza, legata indissolubilmente a Federico II di Svevia che ne volle la rifondazione nel XIII secolo, si distingue per la sua pianta trapezoidale dominata da una torre di circa venti metri.
Trasformato in dimora nobiliare durante l'epoca aragonese, il castello ospitò figure illustri come Eleonora d'Aragona. Proprio alla sua memoria è legata un'affascinante leggenda locale, che narra di un tesoro nascosto e del fantasma della nobildonna posto a sua custodia.
Ai piedi della rocca si adagia il borgo: un dedalo di casette che si arrampicano sulla roccia, creando un gioco di chiaroscuri che ricorda un presepe, su cui svetta la Chiesa del SS. Crocifisso.


Mars has returned to shine in the night sky. Rising just before dawn in the constellation of Taurus, the Red Planet will keep us company throughout the winter season.
In this shot, its glow stands out against the picturesque Giuliana Castle, perched at an altitude of over 700 metres. This fortress, inextricably linked to Frederick II of Swabia, who ordered its reconstruction in the 13th century, is distinguished by its trapezoidal layout, dominated by a tower some twenty metres high.
Transformed into a noble residence during the Aragonese period, the castle hosted illustrious figures such as Eleanor of Aragon. A fascinating local legend is linked to her memory, telling of a hidden treasure and the ghost of the noblewoman entrusted with guarding it.
At the foot of the fortress lies the village: a maze of small houses clinging to the rock face, creating a play of light and shadow reminiscent of a nativity scene, over which the Church of the Holy Cross stands tall.
