Tribute to Verga - Moon a Falcetto over Vizzini

La Luna a falcetto sta per tramontare sul paese di Vizzini dove, nel 1840, nacque Giovanni Verga.
Lo scrittore cita la Luna molteplici volte nelle sue opere testimoniandoci la sua importanza nella cultura e nell'immaginario siciliano del tempo.
Cito dal Mastro Don Gesualdo questo bellissimo passaggio: “…Laggiù, dietro quel monticello, la stessa luna doveva scintillare sui vetri della sua finestra, la stessa dolcezza insinuarsi in lui. Che faceva? che pensava? Un brivido di freddo la sorprendeva di tratto in tratto come gli alberi stormivano e le portavano tante voci da lontano - Luna bianca, luna bella!... Che fai, luna? dove vai? che pensi anche tu? - Si guardava le mani esili e delicate, candide anch'esse come la luna, con una gran tenerezza, con un vago senso di gratitudine e quasi di orgoglio…"
