Luna a falcetto sul Tempio di Giunone

La Luna a falcetto sta tramontando sul tempio di Giunone presso la valle dei templi di Agrigento. Il tempio è posto sopra una sommità rocciosa in uno dei punti più panoramici del costone. Lì sono stati edificati la maggior parte dei templi che hanno permesso alla valle di ricevere il titolo di patrimonio dell'umanità da parte dell'unesco.
Sebbene il tempio dedicato alla dea Giunone non sia perfettamente integro in tutte le sue parti, molte colonne rimangono erette e mostrano chiaramente i suoi connotati dorici. Sorprendentemente, la Luna, bassa all'orizzonte, ha assunto le stesse tinte cromatiche dell'edificio illuminandosi di rosso arancio. L'immagine è stata realizzata fermando il tempo nell'istante esatto in cui la Luna sembra appoggiarsi delicatamente al tempio. Chi sa se le antiche popolazioni sicule avrebbero interpretato questa scena come l’incontro tra due dee: Diana e Giunone!

Sickle moon over the Temple of Juno

The sickle moon is setting on the temple of Juno near the valley of the temples of Agrigento. The temple is located on a rocky summit in one of the most panoramic points of the ridge. Most of the temples were built there, which allowed the valley to receive the title of world heritage site by UNESCO.
Although the temple dedicated to the goddess Juno is not perfectly intact in all its parts, many columns remain erect and clearly show its Doric features. Surprisingly, the Moon, low on the horizon, took on the same chromatic hues as the building, lighting up orange-red. The image was created by stopping time at the exact moment in which the Moon seems to gently rest on the temple. Who knows if the ancient Sicilian populations would have interpreted this scene as the meeting between two goddesses: Diana and Juno!
