Summer Triangle

Summer Triangle

Stack

The image shows one of the most beautiful portions of the summer Milky Way, the one bounded by the so-called Summer Triangle. The triangle-shaped asterism has as its vertices the stars Deneb, Vega and Altair respectively alpha stars of the constellations of Cygnus, Lyra and Aquila. Inside the triangle it is possible to observe a portion of the Milky Way full of stars, stellar dust and various objects of the deep sky. The triangle delimits several constellations: that of the Swan and that of Lyra to name the two most famous. Two other small constellations are located near the vertex delimited by the star Altair, namely: the constellation of the Volpetta and that of the Arrow.
The notes recall the official drawings of the IAU (internationa astronomy union) as well as the names officially registered by the same association.
