With perfect timing, the November supermoon emerged from the clouds exactly when the play of colours on the sky and sea of the island of Ortigia was becoming surreal. A red sea? How is that possible? There is actually nothing strange about this effect, which is nothing more than the reflection of the sun's warm rays just below the horizon. They illuminate the high red clouds (not in frame) and, in turn, these reflect the light onto the water, colouring it brick red! Once again, colour becomes emotion and the memory of an unforgettable moment.
