Etna, The Moon and the Gas Ring.

E' notte ma l'Etna non riposa di certo. Piccole fiamme arancioni e rosse si sprigionano dalla sua cima, creando una colonna di fumo e cenere che si alza verso il cielo. Al suo interno un piccolo anello di gas si solleva tra i chiaro scuri della nuvola vulcanica illuminata dalla Luna.
Essa splende luminosa nel cielo scuro circondata da stelle che, timidamente, sembrano nascondersi dietro questa nebulosità. La Luna diviene spettatore silenziosamente del dramma terrestre sottostante. E' un'immagine a mio parere molto suggestiva che vive del dualismo tra la tranquillità trasmessa dalla Luna e dal cielo stellato e la forza dirompente del vulcano. La bellezza della natura vi viene rivelata anche grazie a quel piccolo anello di gas che cerca di innalzarsi verso il cosmo.

It is night but Mount Etna is certainly not resting. Small orange and red flames shoot up from its summit, creating a column of smoke and ash that rises skyward. Within it, a small ring of gas rises among the dark lights of the volcanic cloud illuminated by the Moon.
It shines brightly in the dark sky surrounded by stars that shyly seem to hide behind this nebulosity. The Moon becomes a silent spectator to the earthly drama below. It is, in my opinion, a very striking image that thrives on the dualism between the tranquility conveyed by the Moon and the starry sky and the disruptive force of the volcano. The beauty of nature is also revealed to you through that small ring of gas that tries to rise toward the cosmos.
