The rock of the elephant is one of the most evocative places on the cliff south of Syracuse. It is located in the Plemmirio reserve and can be admired after having walked along the rocky stretch that faces the sea. There the rocks are carved by the roaring waves of the sea which is able to sculpt the hard stone creating pointed shapes that look like sharp tusks. It is not easy to walk on these paths because the risk of tripping is very high as well as that of getting really hurt. However, the view of the arch with the Milky Way above it, among which the constellation of Scorpio stands out, repays the risk and amazes us for the beauty that our planet is able to offer.
