La piccola isola di Minorca è uno scrigno di tesori storici e naturalistici, e Pont d'en Gil ne è una delle sue gemme più affascinanti. Situata lungo la costa occidentale, questa scogliera a picco sul mare forma una piccola baia impreziosita da un maestoso arco di roccia naturale.
Rimanere a contemplare le stelle sul ciglio di questa falesia fa girare la testa: "La vertigine non è paura di cadere, ma voglia di volare"... verso la Via Lattea, aggiungerei. La galassia si innalza quasi verticalmente sopra l'arco, mentre il fragore delle onde accompagna la vista di questo gioiello della natura.
In primo piano si scorgono le sagome rotondeggianti delle infiorescenze di cipolla selvatica, che crescono spontanee lungo tutta la scogliera. In lontananza, il buio della notte viene appena scalfito dalle luci soffuse delle altre isole dell'arcipelago: Maiorca, Ibiza e Formentera.

The small island of Menorca is a treasure trove of historical and natural wonders, and Pont d’en Gil is one of its most fascinating gems. Situated along the west coast, this cliff overlooking the sea forms a small bay adorned by a majestic natural rock arch.
Standing on the edge of this cliff gazing at the stars is enough to make your head spin: ‘Vertigo is not the fear of falling, but the desire to fly’… towards the Milky Way, I might add. The galaxy rises almost vertically above the arch, whilst the roar of the waves accompanies the view of this natural gem.
In the foreground, you can make out the rounded silhouettes of wild onion flowers, which grow wild all along the cliff face. In the distance, the darkness of the night is barely broken by the soft lights of the other islands in the archipelago: Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
