Reflection of Orion in Lake Trearie

The evening draws to a close and before dawn we witness the sunset of Orion on the Nebrodi mountains. The air is placid and the lake is so calm that it mirrors the stars on its surface. Orion's stars appear as many small gems both in the sky and on the lake. They confuse us and we are no longer able to understand what is heaven and what is earth in this image of almost perfect symmetry. So perfect that it also reflects Barnard's ring on the surface of the water.

La serata volge al termine e prima dell'alba assistiamo al tramonto di orione sui monti Nebrodi. L'aria è placida e il lago è così calmo da specchiare le stelle sulla sua superfice. Le stelle di Orione appaiono come tante piccole gemme sia nel cielo che sul lago. Esse ci confondono e non riusciamo più a capire cosa è cielo e cosa è terra in questa immagine dalla quasi perfetta simmetria. Tanto perfetta da rilfettere anche l'anello di Barnard sulla superfice dell'acqua.
