A star trail is an image that records the movement of stars in the sky in one shot. In reality it is not the stars that move but it is the earth that rotates. We only perceive the apparent movement of the stars in the sky. The stars can be distinguished both by different brightness and by different color. The colder stars appear with slightly warm colors while the warmer stars appear bluer. In addition, the stars rotating around the north pole and the south pole, draw circles around them. In this case, since the stars are equidistant from both poles, they draw almost straight lines.

Approfittando di un momento in cui la turbina n4 del parco eolico di Carlentini B era ferma, vi è stata la possibilità di riprendere uno star trail alle spalle della torre con il profilo delle pale ben definito. Uno star trail è una immagine che registra il movimento delle stelle nel cielo in un unico scatto. In realtà non sono le stelle a muoversi ma è la terra che ruota. Noi percepiano solo il movimento apparente degli astri nel cielo. Le stelle possono essere distinte sia per differente luminosità che per differente colore. Le stelle più fredde appaiono con colori leggermente caldi mentre le stelle più calde appaiono più blu. Inoltre le stelle ruotando attorno al polo nord e al polo sud, disegnano dei cerchi attorno a questi. In questo caso poicheè le stelle sono equidistanti da entrambi i poli, tracciano delle linee pressochè diritte.
